Wedding FAQs

How far in advance can we reserve our wedding date?

Wedding dates can be reserved up to two years in advance.

Please note that weddings scheduled between April and August are subject to the release of the MiLB schedule, which is typically announced mid to late September of the preceding year. During this period, availability is limited, as private events cannot be hosted on home game days. Our team will work closely with you to confirm dates as soon as the schedule is released.

What is required to officially book the space?

To officially reserve your date, a signed contract and a deposit ranging from $500–$1,500 are required. The remaining balance is due prior to the event date.

What is the starting price for a wedding at Dow Diamond?

Weddings at Dow Diamond typically start around $10,000, which includes your chosen event space, tables, chairs, linens, house flatware and serviceware, basic setup and cleanup, and complimentary audiovisual equipment. Final pricing varies based on the date, space, and selected amenities.

Do you offer discounts for off-season or non-Saturday weddings?

Yes. We offer a 20% discount on the facility rental fee for veterans.

What areas of Dow Diamond are available for weddings and receptions?

Dow Diamond offers a variety of versatile spaces to create a seamless and memorable wedding experience. Available areas include the Concourse and Tri-Star Club Level for cocktail hour and dining. Private suites are also available for bridal party preparation, and the field may be used for ceremonies and photos, providing a truly unique ballpark backdrop for your celebration.

What does the rental fee include?

The rental fee includes the contracted event space and the following amenities:

  • Tables and standard banquet chairs

  • Floor-length black or white table linens with your choice of colored cloth napkins

  • House flatware and serviceware

  • Basic setup and cleanup of the event space

  • Complimentary use of audiovisual equipment, including the videoboard and concourse/suite-level TVs for slideshows

When can we access the space for setup?

Typically, the venue will have the rooms fully set by 1:00pm the day prior, including all tables and chairs arranged according to your finalized layout for ceremony, cocktail/appetizer hour, and dinner reception.  Normally you will be able to gain access to add personal touches such as decorations, centerpieces, specialty linens, and rehearse your ceremony at this time.  Early access time is based on availability and depends on whether another event is scheduled in the space the day before. Availability will be confirmed no later than two weeks prior to your event.

Your event rental includes use of the space until midnight, with the bar closing at no later than 11:30pm. We ask that all personal items be removed by 1:00am to allow for cleanup and reset.

May I use my own vendors (florist, DJ, photographer, etc.)?

Yes, you are welcome to use your own vendors for services such as florists, DJs, and photographers. Please note that catering must be provided by the Loons, while your wedding cake can be from a licensed bakery of your choice.

May I select my own caterer, or must I use the ballpark's food and beverage service?

All food and beverage services must be provided by the Loons. We offer a wedding menu and will schedule a tasting approximately three months before your wedding, where you can select three entrée options to sample and finalize for your big day.

Are there any restrictions on decor, candles, or other items?

Yes, there are a few guidelines to keep your event safe and the venue protected:

  • Décor: No tape, glitter, or confetti is allowed.

  • Candles: Only candles in glass containers are permitted.

  • Sparklers: Sparklers exits are allowed in the Dow Diamond staircase

Do you have a dance floor available for our reception?

Yes, a dance floor up to 600 sq. ft. is available for your reception, providing plenty of space for you and your guests to celebrate and dance the night away.

Are there any restrictions on alcohol service?

Yes. All beer, wine, and liquor served at Dow Diamond must be provided by Dow Diamond Events in compliance with Michigan law. Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited. Our team is fully licensed to sell and serve all legal alcoholic beverages. In accordance with state regulations:

  • Guests may be asked to show valid photo identification.

  • Alcohol will not be served to minors.

  • Service will be refused to any guest who appears intoxicated.

  • No shots will be served; all service follows responsible guidelines.

Do you have a cake cutting fee for outside desserts?

Yes, there is a $75 cake-cutting fee for outside desserts, which includes plating and serving your cake or dessert to guests.

What is the service charge?

A 20% service charge is applied to all food and beverage items.

Do you offer late-night or special menu packages?

Yes, we offer late-night snacks and special menu packages to customize your celebration and keep your guests fueled and happy throughout the event.
